Crystal plasticity modeling of ultrasonic softening effect considering anisotropy in the softening of slip systems

In this study, a novel approach to modeling the ultrasonic softening effect during metal plasticity is developed, where slip systems experience differential depending on their orientation relative direction. The directional model was implemented within Visco-Plastic Self-Consistent (VPSC) model, material and parameters are calibrated based micro-tensile test data of pure copper with tension along rolling direction sheet. then validated against stress-strain response samples transverse VPSC results provide new insights into softening, particularly that stress reduction not homogeneous in whole aggregate. degree shows strong dependence grain orientation. A higher level observed plastically hard, high Taylor factor grains. decrease predicted, especially subset reduction, which agrees experimental data. Although traditional isotropic also capable predicting ultrasonically softened for different texture inputs, cannot be captured.
